Welcome to the official website for the Does it 4:3? Steam Curator group!

Founded in 2022 by rootCompute, our mission is to categorize as many Steam games as possible from the past twenty-or-so years in terms of how well they support 4:3 displays. This group was originally created with CRT monitors in mind but has since expanded to include considerations for all manner of display technologies.

This website exists to help bridge some gaps left by the constraints of the Steam Curator system and to give our community a foothold in the small web. The main goal at present is to set this up as a one-stop informational hub and central directory of important links. Frequently asked questions and explanations of our methodologies will be explored to various degrees. Relevant announcements related to the group will also be posted here.

In the meantime, we hope the project will be a useful resource no matter where you end up fitting on the 4:3 gaming spectrum!

Since it appears that we've finally published all reviews left waiting in the submissions queue, I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank the recent guest reviewers for their contributions to this project.

We've had a fantastic past few months in terms of growth and overall activity, and it wouldn't have been possible without the following people: CRTpixels, lkchse, omny43, Odyca and any other anonymous reviewers who went uncredited.

I haven't had this much material to work with on the Curator since it first started all the way back in 2022. Your passion has helped fuel a resurgence in interest around 4:3 PC gaming and I'm very much looking forward to what the future has in store for our community!

This Steam Curator was featured in an article about the Retroid Pocket Nova.

I answered some interview questions and revealed a few details about the future of this project that people might be interested in. I love to see the growth and attention this group has been receiving lately!

I'm so excited to see our group experience this kind of mainstream notoriety and I hope the Nova marks the beginning of a 4:3 handheld gaming renaissance!

I noticed the Steam client changed the way the free games page looks a while back. It seems to only show the games that get a certain amount of attention in the reviews, so might take days or weeks for something to show up.

I think I found a way to view the old method with this link. Just had to narrow down the tags to "free-to-play" in the default search view I guess. Anyway, just wanted to post this here for quick access, these games can be used for curator reviews as they come out if we have nothing else to add in the meantime!
